Side effects and adjusting your MHT: Whatâs normal, whatâs not, and when to act
Starting hormone therapy can bring some side effects - and yes, the first signs are often boobs, blues, and bloating. Breast tenderness, mood changes, bloating, or even some unexpected bleeding are all common in the first 1â2 months. For most people, these symptoms settle as the body adjusts.
The key is knowing:
đ What to expect
đ ď¸ What can be managed or adjusted
đŠ When something might be a medical concern
Sometimes the goal isnât to remove every single symptom straight away. The focus is on finding what feels sustainable. Other times, itâs about changing the type, dose, or route of hormone therapy until we find the best fit for you.
You donât have to figure this out on your own. This section of the course is here to help you feel confident, supported, and ready to troubleshoot when things arenât quite right.
